Welcome to the Viking Health Foundation

Taking a lead role to enhance health care in our community.

History:

The Viking Health Foundation was established as a charitable organization under the authorization of the Minister of Health on June 27,  1997. During the regionalization process of 1994, the assets of the original Viking Hospital Memorial Fund were assumed by the East Central Regional Health Authority #7.  After a lengthy period of organizational work on the part of some committed citizens, bylaws were drafted.

The original assets of the Memorial Fund have been reallocated to the trust of the Foundation.   It was formed to provide continuous administration of the Diagnostic Clinic and Manus Manor triplex  which were established and purchased by Viking Hospital Memorial funds.  There was considerable money in investments that needed to be administered for the benefit of Viking and District residents.

Current Campaign: Cardiac Telemetry

viking-oct.PNGThe Cardiac Telemetry improves patient safety, ensuring that heart events are caught quickly. The sooner treatment is offered, the better the prognosis for the patient. It is an $80,000 investment, considered to be "state of the art" monitoring of patients suffering heart failure.
